Steamboat Springs | Unbuilt Concept

Inspired by mid-century A-Frame chalets, this private residence offers a mountain getaway for an extended family. The black cladding offers a contrast to the winter snow, while hiding it amongst the dark tree stands in warmer months. The floorplan is carefully composed of two volumes, with the public kitchen, living and dining spaces within the a-frame and the private sleeping spaces in the long modernist volume extending perpendicular. Interior decor is kept as simple as possible with a minimal palette of wood and stone, allowing the natural light and views to the mountain vistas to take visual precedence.
