MCK Residence
Centennial, CO | On the Boards
Nestled within a quiet meadow along the historic High Line Canal, this residence was envisioned as a contemplative retreat for a young family—a place of stillness and refuge shaped by its natural surroundings. The home is organized around a sheltered, three-sided garden that opens to expansive views of the adjacent prairie, creating a seamless dialogue between enclosure and openness.
Two discreet, two-story volumes house the private living spaces and are finished in a textured, earth-toned stucco—a nod to the clients love of southwestern design. These volumes are joined by a low, horizontal glass pavilion that draws light deep into the center of the home while offering framed views outward to the meadow and sky. A continuous steel fascia traces the roofline with quiet rigor, lending a subtle precision to the composition and visually grounding the structure within its gently sloping site.
