LF Residence
Boulder, CO | Unbuilt Concept
Perched lightly upon a boulder-strewn hillside, this home rests in quiet dialogue with the vastness of the Colorado wilderness. Its slender, linear form—dark, reticent and elemental—emerges not as an object imposed, but as a vessel for light and lived alpine experience. The architecture does not seek to conquer the landscape, but to attune itself to its rhythms and textures.
Glass walls stretch across the façade like lenses, framing the landscape of stone and pine. Within, materiality is hushed and tactile—wood, concrete, and steel engaged in a subtle conversation of weight and warmth. There is a sense of dwelling that is not defined by enclosure, but by presence: the murmur of wind through trees, the stillness of early light on stone.
The home reflects a quiet and intentional approach to building in nature. It prioritizes clarity, function, and connection to place, creating grounded, cozy spaces balanced by an open dialogue with nature.
