Boulder, CO | Unbuilt Concept

Commission for a painter with a straightforward objective to design a weekend retreat with an open living plan and space to create large scale paintings. A simple bar shaped structure is organized internally by an enclosed bathroom and closet space flanked by an a open plan living space and bedroom space with floor to ceiling glass walls opening up to the surrounding landscape. The structure has been wrapped in a black facade to defer the architecture behind the natural landscape and artworks.
